SERVICES PROVIDED

Food Boxes

Volunteers at Friends of the Needy help prepare food boxes for individuals and families in need. The size and contents of each box are determined by availability and the specific needs of the client, as assessed by our staff or trained volunteers. Food boxes are primarily made up of rescued food from local grocery stores and supplemented by community donations.

Clients may receive one food box every seven days. A government-issued ID is required at the time of pickup, and the client must be present to receive the food.

Hours of Food Box Distribution (first come, first served):

  • TUESDAYS from 9AM - 11AM
  • WEDNESDAYS from 9AM - 11AM
  • THURSDAYS from 9AM - 11AM
  • SATURDAYS from 9AM - 11AM

Diapers, Wipes, Baby food & Formula

Clients with children may receive a one-gallon size ziplock bag of diapers once every 7 days. Baby food and formula are available on a case-by-case basis, depending on availability and assessed need. Distribution of these items is coordinated alongside our regular food box schedule (please see distribution times above).
