Day-to-day operations are managed by a Director and Assistant Coordinator who ensure the efficient and compassionate delivery of services. Our efforts are made possible by a core group of regular and part-time volunteers — ranging from youth to seniors — who prepare and distribute food boxes to those in need. St. Anne Friends of the Needy began in the mid-1980s as a grassroots response to the growing needs of individuals and families facing hardship in the Gilbert community. Parishioners of St. Anne Catholic Church organized local yard sales and raffles to raise funds, which were used to assist those in crisis. Out of these early efforts, a ministry of service and compassion took shape - committed to supporting the most vulnerable through community outreach.
Today, Friends of the Needy operates as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is one of the most visited food pantries in the East Valley. With the help of dedicated staff, volunteers, and community partners, we continue to serve thousands of households each year with dignity, respect, and care.
